About Us!
Ashleigh's Dance Academy

Hi I'm Ashleigh!
At the age of three I put on my first dance shoes and no one has been able to get me out of them since! From festivals, competitions, shows, pantomimes, and exams I couldn't get enough. I knew from a young age I wanted to share my passion with the world and therefore was determined to educate myself on how to teach performing arts.
There has been much research on the positive effects of music for our health and happiness
BBC News reported on research from a University in Montreal Canada (Nature Neuroscience study)
'An experiment by a primary school in England has revealed that music can also help in improving academic performance among pupils. New Delhi: It is no secret that music has therapeutic effect and can help students in combatting stress. Studies have also revealed that music helps in improving concentration.'
After successfully completing a PGDE Teaching Qualification in Dance at Liverpool John Moores University as well as a Degree in Dance, Drama and Performing Arts at Edgehill University. I decided to open my own Dance Academy focusing on inclusivity, learning new skills, a love of music and fitness.
I pride myself on having an inclusive academy where EVERYONE MATTERS!
I continue my professional development in working with children and young people as I am passionate about each of my pupils reaching their individual potential.
Now established, our success in establishing inclusive fun-loving classes include
· Confidence building
· Dance technique
· Performance skills
· Self-expression
· Social skills
· Communication skills
· Encouragement of creativity
My Academy, ‘Ashleigh Balmer’s Dance Academy’ (ADA) was founded in 2018 in Formby.
We have now decided to take our love for dance and share it within the Merseyside area
As well as my expansion of my Dance Academy my work also includes working in primary and secondary schools not only within Dance and Performance but includes writing programmes of work, delivery and co-delivery of social and communication groups as well as parent groups. (Sefton and Liverpool Schools)
It is our goal to ensure all of our pupils are learning new skill and enhancing their confidence whilst expressing themselves in a fun and active way!
I would love to hear from you to see if we have a class to fit you or your little one!??? Big one? Young people?
